ELECTROSCOPE 'GOLD LEAF' TYPE IN METAL HOUSING
- EM1811-001
The IEC "Gold Leaf Electroscope" is not so popular since the development of the Metal Vane model EM1810-001. A small blade of ultra thin gold leaf is adhered to a metal frame inside the metal housing with glass sides. When a charge is deposited on the electrode disc at the top of the electroscope, the gold leaf deflects away from the frame. To avoid breakage of the gold leaf during shipment, good instructions and 3x gold leaves are provided for the user to fit.
A 4mm socket is provided for earthing the metal casing. One glass side panel is removable for access or for inserting radio active sources. See PA1811-010 for spare gold leaves.
