Magnetic Stirrer / Hot Plate, or Hot Plate only. Insulation sheet that is placed directly below the hot plate before the first heat baffle plate. A 5mm thick glass compound (not asbestos) that helps to retain the heat in the plate by reducing the radiant heat downwards. NOTE: Asbestos has not been used since the early 1980s.
