A toggle switch mounted in a medium sized transparent housing.   Double pole and single throw (DPST).  

The term "double pole" means that 2 circuits are switched at the same time as an ON/OFF action.     The term "single throw" means that one contact either connects to another or is not connected to anything.    Therefore,  for DPST switch there are 2 input terminals (say A & B) and 2x output terminals (say C & D).    When switch is ON,  A joind to C and B joins to D.  

( The term 'double throw" means that a contact can be selected to connect to either of 2 other contacts. )
